MAEBA Difference

MAEBA is the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of NEBB, the National Environmental Balancing Bureau, the largest certifying organization in the HVAC industry.

NEBB Certification is the most rigorous certification program in the industry. NEBB certifies firms that meet certain criteria, ensuring strict conformance to its high standards and procedures. Among other requirements, NEBB-certified firms must document a record of responsible performance, own a complete set of instruments required for the sophisticated techniques and procedures necessary to "fine-tune" modern environmental systems, and have a NEBB Certified Professional on staff.

NEBB also establishes professional qualifications for the supervision and performance of work in various disciplines such as, Building Systems Commissioning, Sound and Vibration Measurement, Cleanroom Performance Certification, Fume Hood Testing and Retro-Commissioning, and Building Envelope Testing. NEBB Certified Professionals must have extensive experience, and pass college-level written examinations and demonstrate certain practical working knowledge and proficiency in the use of instruments required for the various disciplines.

Today, it is more important then ever to have buildings operating at their optimal performance and according to design specifications.

MAEBA is the local chapter that represent all NEBB Certified Firms located in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Some of the founding fathers of balancing have come from the tri-state area and helped to establish this NEBB chapter. One of the first classes offered in balancing was taught right here by a MAEBA consulting engineer, William G. Eads, PE.
